Boat Launch Work Completed

The work on the boat launch is done and residents of Sandy Hook are invited to store their boats along the ramp area (either side). With the added room created on the left hand side of the boat launch, the boat launch registration program (numbered spots) is no longer in effect - there is ample space for everyone on an "as required" basis. The area is NOW OPEN for public use and we encourage everyone to lock their boats to the cables provided for security. The District of Sechelt did a great job and many thanks were passed along for the positive change in our community.

Boat Launch: Half done

Some may have noticed that only one side of the BoatLaunch was redone. The project was split into two with the left side to be scheduled 1st quarter next year. This was due to, in large part, the fact that so many boats remained on the left side of the BoatLaunch.

So whats next? Well Parks and Public Works have done their bit and now its time for some volunteers to put the posts back in (with a machine/post-hole-digger) and build the first boat rack. Please contact Peter if you can help with this work. The work will begin once a few folks have offered to help. It will be fun - so please help out :)

Volunteers are needed to assist in new boat spot layout (spots may be larger) and construction of two boat racks. This will be needed after the DoS folks are done.
